Fat Quarter drawing for July- Stars
Happy summer, well maybe. With all this rain, I just want to stay
in and sew. Hopefully a little sewing will be done and then when the sun
comes back, enjoy some great time outside! As you read this I'm on vacation!! I
hope everyone has a great time enjoying the quilt show in Sisters and our
exciting speaker, Violet Craft!
Remember that the guild meeting is a week later this month! I
will see everyone at our show, wear your guild t-shirt if you have one and your
name tag. Also, please buy your raffle tickets. We are behind in our
ticket sales. We use this money to help pay for our amazing speakers! Last but not least, I want to thank the
members that donated quilts for Oklahoma. 12 quilts were donated to the
victims of the tornado in Moore. I was completely humbled by this
gracious showing of care. Thank you so much!

shows. This will include those quilts shown at our Sisters display plus any
others that are available. If you have one of these you are willing to show let
us know the name of the quilt and the size. There will be a clipboard at the
July meeting, or you can email us at MBQG.email@example.com

Mary Ann B.
Tickets are available during the July meeting. Kayla H. will be selling them. Thank you to the members who have

fund our guild’s programs. Members
are encouraged to sell raffle tickets to family and friends to help with our
fundraiser. Thank you!

Quilt entry forms will be available at the July
Guild meeting. Please fill out your ‘Entry Form’ at home before you arrive with

Sales Table Collection:
Have some sewing supplies, books, fabric or
anything else related to quilting that you’d like to sell? Have stuff laying
around that you just don’t use and don’t know what to do with? This is your
opportunity to clean out your closet and your sewing room. Bundle magazines,
bag up notions (zip lock), and box up that day lamp that just doesn’t fit on
your sewing table. Clean up your creative space, put a little change in your
pocket and support our guild!!!

Wall St. and Portland Ave.
We need lots of help for set-up and break down.
Help of husbands and teenagers would be appreciated
for both set up and break down. The more help the better! It goes quickly and
it’s lots of fun!!!
Set up: Please arrive at 7 am to help
with set up. We need every able-bodied person we can get to set up the quilt
frames and hang the quilts.
Break down: At 4:00 pm we will be
taking down the quilts, taking apart the frames and loading up the truck.
*There’s no need for husbands to stay at the park
all day – let them go play! They are definitely welcome to stay if they’d like.

We need help with storing/transporting the
quilts to a safe place on Friday night before the show. Also, any help with SET UP,
which includes helping transport the frames from Sisters would be
appreciated. Please email me
at firstname.lastname@example.org if you can help in either
of these positions.
Oh yes, don’t forget about the potluck!!!
Make your favorite dish to share. Better yet, make your quilting friend’s
favorite dish! Information will be shared at the July meeting by our Potluck

Quilts- Next Meeting July 17, 11-3 at Nativity Lutheran Church
Diana L., Bev P., Lora F., or Jean M.
As usual, Community Quilts will meet on the Wednesday after the Guild
meeting, which means July 17th. We
meet at Nativity Lutheran Church, located at the corner of SE Knott and Brosterhaus,
from 11 till nearly 3. If you
don't have a Community quilt project in progress, we can get you started with
one using one of our kits or from fabric we have on hand. Bring
your sewing machine and sewing supplies, as well as your lunch.
Anyone is welcome to join us--we meet every Wednesday at the church.
The only exception is July 24th--we can't meet that day because the
church is holding vacation bible school that week. Please contact one of
us if you have questions.
The July raffle book is Bloom Creek Quilts,
by Vicki Bellino. These quilts
combine traditional patchwork with appliqué shapes for projects ranging from
wall hangings to bed-sized quilts, plus a great tote bag and pillow. Tickets
are $1 each or 6 for $5. The new
book added to the library this month is Big-Print Patchwork, by Sandy
Turner. Books donated by members
added to the library this month are:
Thimbleberries Classic Country by Lynette Jensen, Easy Pieces,
Creative Color Play with Two Simple Quilt Blocks, by Margaret J. Miller,
and Machine Applique for the Terrified Quilter, by Sharon Pederson.
The Library cabinet will be moving out
of QuiltWorks, probably before the meeting. Members will no longer be able to
check out or return books to QuiltWorks.
To check out or return a book, contact me directly (email@example.com
or 541 312-4550) and I will bring requested books to a meeting or arrange for
you to pick them up. There will be
a selection of books to check out at the meeting and you can return books to me
there. Thank you for your support
of the Guild Library.

Wow! The new merchandise we ordered a Spring Quilt Market is arriving
daily! We have received 100+ new bolts of batiks, a number of new lines of
fabrics, new patterns, books, notions, and more. We are so excited! Our entire
staff has been busy making new store samples to inspire you. We have kitted a
number of them.
We always enjoy presenting our shop in a “whole new light” at the
beginning of every July. This year is no exception. Come in before the crowds
and look around. We aim to delight and inspire you. Remember that we have over
300 samples on display.
The Sisters’ Outdoor Quilt Show is July 13. We hope that you have a
wonderful time enjoying all the amazing, magnificent, and fantastic quilts that
will be displayed.

It’s a Feast for the Eyes!!
We have all of our stock in for Quilt Show, and the new trunk shows are
on display--come see all of the new patterns that we found at quilt market this
year! We’ve made a bunch of wonderful new kits, and the sample quilts are
hanging everywhere. Jackie has put together some absolutely scrumptious batik
jelly rolls and charm packs. There is so much color that you will hardly know
what to look at next! Stitchin’ Post has the largest selection of batiks,
solids, Kaffe Fassett and contemporary prints in Central Oregon!
What’s New in July…
David Butler’s new line, “World Tour” is fabulous, and we’ve received
some beautiful “Cape Cod Seersucker” plaids from Kaufman, as well as a colorful
new line from Frond Design Studios. Kathy Deggendorfer’s new coffee mugs came
in—the fishing and vintage travel trailer mugs are very cute. We’ve stocked up
on felted wool for Sue Spargo’s incoming students, and we have some great
collections of Valdani hand-dyed perle cotton, as well as some squares of
hand-dyed velvet that are oh, so yummy!
